Add eSIM in Settings
Only phones with eSIM show it
- Open the SIM settings.iPhoneSettings → CellularAndroidSettings → Network & internet → SIMsSamsungSettings → Connections → SIM manager
- Look for Add eSIM, Add Cellular Plan or Download a SIM.
If one of these options appears, your phone supports eSIM.

Check for a carrier lock
A locked phone only accepts eSIMs from the carrier that sold it
- Open the carrier lock setting.iPhoneSettings → General → About → Carrier LockAndroidSettings → Network & internet → SIMs
- Android has no single setting for this. If you don't find it, ask the carrier that sold the phone.
If it reads No SIM restrictions, the phone is unlocked.
Locked phones can be unlocked by the carrier that sold them. A Panmigo eSIM will not install until then.
Worth knowing
- Most iPhones sold in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao use two physical SIMs and have no eSIM.
- Some regional versions of Android phones have no eSIM, including most sold in mainland China.
- Supporting eSIM is not the same as being unlocked. Check both before you buy a plan.
